A whole-school responsibility
Every member of staff — teachers, support staff, governors, therapists and volunteers — understands that safeguarding is their responsibility. We act effectively in the best interests of every student.
Rigorous safer recruitment
All staff and volunteers are subject to enhanced DBS checks and complete mandatory safeguarding training before working with students, with ongoing annual training to keep practice current.
Effective reporting systems
All staff are trained to use CPOMS — our system for reporting, recording and monitoring concerns — ensuring concerns are acted upon quickly and consistently.

National guidance
Keeping children safe is everyone's responsibility. We follow national guidance to make sure all children are protected, supported, and able to thrive. The government's Working Together to Safeguard Children (2026) guidance explains how schools, health services, social care, and other organisations work together to keep children safe and support families. It highlights the importance of early help, listening to children's voices, and working closely with parents and carers.
We also follow the Children's Social Care National Framework, which sets out how services should support children, young people, and families to achieve the best outcomes and stay safe.

We believe that the best way to keep children safe is by working in partnership with parents and carers. We will always listen, offer support, and involve families in decisions wherever possible. Safeguarding is most effective when everyone is working in the same direction — and that starts with open, honest communication.
