Our specialist support services

At Warmley Park, we work closely with a range of specialist professionals to support our pupils’ individual needs. These external agencies work alongside our staff to ensure therapeutic support is integrated into everyday school life. Our specialist support services include Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and creative interventions including music, art and play therapy.

Speech and Language Therapy

Speech, language and communication are at the heart of learning and wellbeing. Our therapists work collaboratively with class teams to embed communication strategies throughout the day. Pupils with Speech and Language Therapy specified in their EHCP are prioritised for direct support. Other pupils may be referred for assessment, review, targeted programmes or referral to specialist services such as AAC West.

Kate Fox is our school Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist. She is based at school one day a week to support students with their postural management, specialist seating, and physiotherapy programmes. Kate also supports our hydrotherapy programmes for students who have it in their EHCPs. The Sirona therapy team will remain responsible for children’s standers and walkers as part of their core provision, with students accepted through the NHS referral route.

Creative interventions

Creative Interventions — Music, Art & Play Therapy

Warmley Park commissions music therapy and play therapy. We also have a specialist HLTA who supports connection through art sessions. These interventions can help build resilience, reduce anxiety and provide opportunities for children to communicate and explore emotions. We also offer ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) using an in-house ELSA specialist.
