Physical literacy at Warmley Park
Physical Literacy is the motivation, confidence, physical competence, knowledge and understanding that provides all individuals with the movement foundation for a physically active life.
At Warmley Park, Physical Literacy sits at the centre of our PE and sport provision. We believe that every pupil — regardless of their individual needs, abilities, or disabilities — deserves the opportunity to build a positive relationship with movement and physical activity that lasts throughout their life.
Our PE and sport programme is designed to be inclusive, engaging and meaningful for all learners, supporting physical development alongside communication, independence, wellbeing, and sensory regulation.
Motivation & confidence
Building a positive attitude toward physical activity and the confidence to take part
Physical competence
Developing fundamental movement skills and sport-specific abilities at every pupil's own pace
Knowledge & understanding
Understanding health, wellbeing, rules, and how to participate safely in sport and physical activity
Active for life
Establishing lifelong habits that support health and wellbeing from childhood into adulthood
School Games
Warmley Park participates in the School Games programme — a Government and Sport England initiative that provides competitive and inclusive sporting opportunities for schools. Participation in School Games competitions and festivals is an important part of our physical literacy offer.
